Generating Qualified Signatures according to german and european Laws

Documents with specific content or a small number of documents can be signed using an individual signature by entering a single PIN per document. In eJustice, for example, individual signatures are used to digitally process court judgments or police reports, as well as for technical processes such as documenting individual steps. Both advanced signatures and qualified signatures are available, depending on the requirement.

The possibilities of visible signatures (stamp signatures), internal PDF signatures, and external signatures offer an immense range of capabilities for all application scenarios. Multiple signatures per document are also possible.

Our OfficeSigner solution is the leading software for generating qualified signatures in offices in accordance with the German and European signature laws.
Integration with MS Word®, MS Excel® or Open Office and the integrated electronic signature of PDF documents make signatures easy to use and understand for everyone. OfficeSigner offers added convenience by integrating with MS Outlook. Documents of any other format can, of course, also be provided with an external PKCS#7 or S-MIME signature, e.g., via Windows Explorer. Signature verification can also be accessed by simply right-clicking. Accredited timestamps can be used to protect verification results or other documents in an audit-proof manner.

For batch signatures, OfficeSigner provides the ability to sign up to 99 documents in one signature process with a single PIN entry. Documents can be selected in MS Explorer or collected by uploading them to a checkbox. A multiple signature card is required for qualified batch signatures.

Easy right-click Verification of De-Mails and Signatures

With a simple right click, OfficeSigner can also check emails and signatures. The header is checked for completeness and validity in accordance with the De-Mail technical guidelines.

Hash values are calculated and the integrity of the header and body hashes, including any attachments, and the De-Mail versioning rules are checked. A verification log (test log) is then created in XML format.

Use saved verification style sheets to create custom verification logs. Verification results can be provided with a qualified timestamp.
If signatures are included, the certificate and certificate chains are checked against the certificate revocation lists (CRLs) of the accredited trust centers in the chain or shell model. An XML verification log is created. No transaction costs.

Timestamp

A timestamp is used to assign a document to a unique and verifiable point in time.
Digital timestamps are, in effect, certificates that an electronic document (or the hash value of that document) was available to the person applying the timestamp at the specified time. They support the use of electronic signatures in legal transactions. Courts can electronically confirm that a message was received on time. Archives can prove that a document has not been altered since it was archived (TR-ESOR, ArchiSig compliant). Timestamps are also used in large tenders to document and secure them.

The German Trust Services Act regulates the requirements for issuing qualified timestamps as a high-quality form of such a certificate, ensuring that the valid legal time has been recorded and that forgeries and falsifications are excluded.

The official German time is used, not that of the local computer. In addition to the requirements for qualified electronic signatures, the Trust Services Act also describes the requirements for a qualified timestamp. This provides legal proof that an electronic document has not been altered after it has been signed. The validity of electronic documents with a qualified timestamp can be verified for a period of 30 years. Only certification service providers accredited by the Bundesnetzagentur (German Federal Network Agency) are authorized to issue qualified timestamps.

OfficeSigner can be used to retrieve accredited timestamps from trust centers and DCF-77 compliant timestamps. This is done by connecting to a DCF-77 server.
